Thornsberry Bailey Brown

Grave of Thornsberry Bailey Brown in the Grafton National Cemetery, Grafton, WV. Brown, a member of the “Grafton Guards,” was the first Union soldier to be killed by a Confederate soldier when he was shot in the chest by a member of the “Letcher Guards” at Fetterman, (West) Virginia on May 22, 1861.
